Welcome to The Mess Room - my page for steam and heritage railway enthusiasts wherever you live in the world.  The aim of this page is not only to tell you about developments in my own website but to keep you up to date with everything that's going on in the heritage railway scene in this most beautiful part of the United Kingdom.

Main Line News

Following the failure of Saturday 3rd October's Dartmouth Express  Poole -  Kingswear at Salisbury there are no further steam railtours south of Bristol in 2009. 

The Yuletide Torbay Express has also been cancelled. Negotiations are under way for an alternative tour.

Steam in the Blood News

I have now added all of my photographs from our three day shoot at the West Somerset Railway's Autumn Gala.  Maureen still has a few more from Sunday to publish.  On the menu the Autumn Gala galleries can be found under the West Somerset Railway 2009 Galleries heading. 

We have constructed a new website devoted only to the South Devon Railway.  It came live on Friday 19th June, is called sdronline.org.uk and to visit it click here.
